The China Community Construction Research Center is a research institution jointly established by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and Zhejiang University in 2009. and is administratively affiliated with Zhejiang University. The Center aims to combine the leaders, practitioners and scholars of community building by strengthening the cooperation between the Ministry and the University.
After nearly ten years of hard work, the Center has gradually grown into an authoritative think tank for national community construction, and has created five platforms for community building work in China. They are:
1) Urban and rural community construction theory and policy research platform (to undertake various research and project design commissioned by the Ministry of Civil Affairs).
2) Practice and design platform for urban and rural community construction experimental zone or demonstration zone. This platform designed and promoted the pilot zone project of “Jinxing Xinyi Town, this project was designed based on the idea of “promoting community construction through social mechanism”.
3) Exchange platform for community construction experiences, for hosting community-based meetings and forums.
4) The training platform for community building talents, for training young scholars and graduate student in community research, and community leaders.
5) Community building social action platform. This platform accepted a number of local government procurement services, and hatched a number of community social organizations.
