The QS World University Subject Rankings were published on March. 4. They cover a total of 51 disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas, and include 1440 universities across 85 regions. Research citations, along with the results of major global surveys of employers and academics are used to rank universities.
The Department of Sociology ranks sixth in Mainland China (one place up from last year), 21st in Asia (three places up from last year) and stays in the top 150 in the world.
