The Chinese Sociological Association Elects Professor Mao Dan as Vice President

We are delighted to announce that on October 30, at the 11th Congress of the Chinese Sociological Association (CSA) in Guiyang, the CSA elected Professor Mao Dan, from Zhejiang University’s Department of Sociology, as its new vice president.

Founded in March 1979, the CSA is a national-level academic and non-profit organization. Members of the association consist of academics and practitioners engaged in the teaching and research of sociology. The CSA is based at the Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and currently hosts a total of 40 branches across China. Fei Xiaotong served as the first and second president of the CSA. The association has greatly contributed to educating Chinese sociologists, popularizing sociological knowledge, promoting the establishment of sociology as an academic discipline and nurturing domestic and international academic exchanges.
